The Varivas Ajing Master Ester is an ultra-fine, monofilament line, in widths that a few years ago we could not imagine it is possible to fish with.
The Japanese fishing style of Ajing fishing for White Trevally has become an international trend. In the Mediterranean, Ajing, except targeting White Trevally and Atlantic Horse Mackerel has managed to add more species in its target group, such as the Saddled Seabream, the Atlantic Mackerel and the Scomber. All of these species have one thing in common: the feed on the microscopic nutritious elements by aspiration and their anatomy includes extra sensitive jaws, while they fight hard when caught on your hook.
Fishing gear for the Ajing technique is highly specialized, as it has to balance between handling small lures, the delicate physiology of the fish and their strength. More recently, Japanese leading companies have launched thin lines that possess the properties of braids and completely changed the terms of the game. These lines were named Ester from the chemical type of Ester from which they are made. The Light Rock Fishing game around the world began to change and where braids were the only option, new paths began to open.
The Varivas Ajing Master Ester is an ultra-fine, monofilament line, in widths that a few years ago we could not imagine it is possible to fish with. The Ajing Master Ester has unprecedented sensitivity and stretching properties, as low as that of a PE line.
The properties of Ester lines have revolutionized the world of finesse and ultra light fishing. An Ester line has all the good qualities of a monofilament / fluorocarbon line (relative invisibility, smoothness, strength in case of scratching on rocks), all the good qualities of braided line (unsurpassed sensitivity, immediacy of information delivered and received, immediacy while setting the hook) without the negative properties of each one.
It is widely believed that Varivas produces some of the best Ester fishing lines in the world and Ajing Master is a classic example of such a perfect fishing line. First of all, it has almost zero memory, which makes it react and respond instantly to the stimuli and strikes have become easier. In addition, its invisibility as well as the ease of handling, together with its enormous sensitivity, give the Varivas Ester line a clear lead. Its specific gravity is 1.35 signifying that this line possesses properties absolutely desirable in fishing the prey aforementioned.
First of all, it is a sinking line. Secondly, it has a much higher wind tolerance than braids. In short, it is less affected by the wind during casting, it creates a much lesser curve due to the wind, during handling, hence it allows you to cast to the desired distance and feel everything that happens around your lure.
We must keep in mind that Ester fishing lines, which will be our top choice in Ultra Light fishing, should be combined with Shock Leader. The perfect marriage is the Ajing Master Shock Leader. Varivas also reminds us of the need to properly adjust the drag force on our reel.
The width of the Varivas Ajing Master Ester lines we distribute start from PE0.2 which corresponds to a width of 0.074 mm with a strength of about 480 grams (1.05 Lbs). We recommend it for an Ultra Light Set with Casting Weight around 3 gr. PE0.3 corresponds to 0.09 mm with a strength of about 650 grams (we recommend its use in Ajing Set with Casting Weight at about 7 gr). Respectively the PE0.4 stands at 0.104 mm with a strength of about 990 grams for a Light Rock Fishing SET with Max Casting Weight at 10 grams.
