Major Craft set the target of creating an enticing, artificial soft bait, that would have the closest possible properties, to a natural bait. At the same time, the Major Craft I-Tail was designed with the intention of increasing the number of strikes, by allowing the hook to retreat easily from the extra soft material it is made of.

Major Craft also resorted to science, to develop attractants that are both effective and environmentally friendly. The composition of the aromas and additives the Bio Bait contains, were researched and developed by the University of Ryukoku. The Bio Bait I-Tail has been impregnated with Monosodium Glutamate, which continues to be released long after the I-Tail has come in contact with the water. It also contains plenty of Chitosan, a polysaccharide found in high concentrations in Shrimps, Crabs and Cephalopods. The aroma additives attract fish, but you can touch it without leaving a bad smell on your hands.

Along the length of the Bio Bait body there are rings that cause micro-vibrations, which are felt by predators.
