Much like the rest of our DJ line, our flagship Steel Reserve 3 has been updated in every way possible. We started by lengthening the top tube by almost 40mm and shortening up the chainstays by 11mm to give it that snappy, playful feel. The longer wheelbase is capable of high-speed sends without feeling twitchy. The frame is crafted from seamless 4130 chromoly tubing, with a tapered head tube and gusseted top and down tubes. We added an investment cast yoke behind the bottom bracket for a stiff, responsive rear end (with increased clearance) as well as investment cast dropouts with built-in chain tensioners. If you’re comparison shopping, you’ll note we spared no expense on the Marzocchi DJ 100mm forks, adding unmatched performance and value. Pro Taper bars, 48-spline 3-piece chromoly cranks, Tektro Gemini four-piston brakes and a stout sealed wheelset with double-wall rims and a 20mm thru axle up front round out the build. Want to build one from the ground up? No worries, the SR 3 is available as an aftermarket frame, too.
