In the workshop of Giorgos Tyrikos, the airbrushes went on fire and in collaboration with the DUO International Product Designers, exclusively for Tsouros Marine company, they transformed the most popular Jerk bait of all time, into the Mediterranean (Marcanno) Wrasse.

Is there truly any In-shore angler, targeting Barracuda, Blue Fish, or Seabass, who has not casted a Tide Minnow Slim Flyer 200 lure? And yet its story in the Greek waters is just beginning…

The species Wrasse has been – and we know this from the traditional knowledge passed on from old fishermen – a delicacy for large predators, especially Dentex. The DUO Flyer 200 is a lure that challenges the biggest predators and is able to withstand the battle against them. With this new, very realistic color, the Mediterranean Wrasse becomes a top choice in our tackle box.

In the workshop of Giorgos Tyrikos, the airbrushes went on fire and in collaboration with the DUO International Product Designers, exclusively for Tsouros Marine company, they transformed the most popular Jerk bait of all time, into the Mediterranean (Marcanno) Wrasse. The first designs started from unpainted blanks and through a design process which sent everybody back to the drawing board, the new artifact acquired color and character, similar to none until today.

The new Wrasse lure, has been coated with three types of pigments: Pearl, Colorshifting and Transparent. The Japanese designers at DUO recreated the final prototype in each and every detail, producing a truly Signature lure that targets Barracuda, Blue Fish, Dentex and the huge winter Seabass. The Pearl touches on the belly and back, cause this Flyer to produce iridescent flashes at its slightest movement. The transparent coatings allow each color to blend in harmoniously with each other, creating a “Chameleon” effect and adding to the scale of realism. Little details like the Gold – Black Strike Area on the tail, the unique Black Pearl imprint on the sides, the Perle – Orange side line, all together make up a realistic version of the Mediterranean Wrasse, that has landed trophy fish.

Being a pure Jerkbait, the DUO Flyer 200 has been designed to be worked with strong jerks from our rod. After casting, it sinks with the tail first, but soon returns to a horizontal position after the first Twitch, as its ballast moves forward. The retrieve strategies we can practice with this lure are many. Letting it sink and working it first with strong Jerks is one way; as it rises higher in the water column, work it with Twitches and pauses. You can also try to retrieve it, when very high in the water column, with back-to-back Twitches and very fast retrieves. A wounded Wrasse is not going to leave any fish unresponsive.

Continuing the very successful collaboration between angler Giorgos Tyrikos, DUO and Tsouros Marine company, one more Mediterranean Special color is transformed into a lure that has written its own history in Mediterranean waters.
