The Cressi Naxos mask is compact and smaller in size, than a classic diving mask, but this unique feature does not reduce the field of vision, and thanks to new internal ribs, it adapts perfectly to any anatomy of the face.
Cressi Naxos, like Quantum, not only offers increased downward vision but also avoids the phenomenon of fogging by thermoregulating the warm, moist air escaping from the nose inside the mask. This is channeled by a system of membranes in the mould around the eyes and nose, which deflect the flow towards the rubber walls and not towards the glass.
Inner Mebranes
A patented membrane surrounding the inner nose pocket (1) and both the inner eyes pockets (2) which acts as abarrier and traps any moisture escaping from the divers nose involuntarily when breathing through the mouth. Theresult is that not only is the moisture channeled away from the lenses, thus avoiding the fogging up of them, but it also reduces the need to compensate for pressure. To further improve the anti-fog effect, Cressi suggests, the first times that the dive mask is used, to spray some anti-fog solution or to apply some saliva on the inside of thelenses and then to rinse them with water.
Heat Exchanger
The external part of the skirt features a cooling systemcomposed of two small heat exchangers that act asradiators (3). Thanks to this system, the temperature insidemask drops, coming closer to the external temperature andthe droplets of humidity are trapped before the air reachesthe lenses, preventing them from fogging up.
On the outside of the walls is a coolingsystem consisting of two small heat exchangers that function like radiators. The effect is that thetemperature inside the mask is lowered, bringingit closer to the outside temperature, and thatmoisture droplets are trapped before the airreaches the glasses, thus preventing them from fogging up.
The lenses are not chemically treated, so it shouldbe remembered that when the mask is new, as isrecommended for all masks, it is best to clean thelenses thoroughly with toothpaste, dishwashingdetergent or simply use a lighter to burn off allvolatiles and impurities deposited on the glass. And it is also always useful before each dive to usesaliva as a surfactant.
