The Black Diamond Brownie has a sensitive tip and its action is semi-parabolic, bending the first 1/3 of the blank. It is can be mounted with a jigging reel, or a Baitcasting reel.

It is equipped with 12 guides, the first 4 of which are double legged. The dense distribution of the guides makes the pressure exerted by the braided line on the rods blank, balanced. The 4 top guides feature orange thread binding to make them visible in low light conditions, especially when the rod is in a rod holder.
