There are two ways to use the Patapata sinker. One is from the shore, as you would normally approach the Eging fishing style. With the addition of the Patapata sinker, the Squid jig becomes much heavier, hence it can reach further and sink at a faster rate, even in adverse weather conditions, with head wind. However, it needs to be stated that using the Patapata Sinker, completely transforms the way Eging is practiced, as you need a much stronger and stiffer rod, contrary to the core Eging philosophy.
However, Duel developed the Patapata Egi Sinkers for the Tip & Run Eging fishing style, which is practiced from the boat. With Tip & Run Eging a boat angler can aim for squids in deep areas such as 30, 40, 50 meters. For such a fishing style, you need the 1,60 up to 2 meters rod, that you would normally use in a boat, which is a lot softer and flexible, to give motion to the lure and allow the user to feel bites. At the same time it possesses a lot of strength in the butt. Tip & Run squid jigs are normally heavy, in the range of 30 gr, however when strong currents exist in the area, an additional sinker is needed.
The Duel Patapata sinker is center balanced, keeps the squid jig in place and also makes it produce more intense vibrations.
