Japanese company DUO, is primarily known for the design, development and production of lures. After the development of the legendary D-Squid lure, with its innovative design for its time, DUO returns to the Eging fishing style with the Egimasa squid jig, produced in two models: the Regular and the Deep. The Egimasa Regular is being produced in #3.0 and #3.5 size and has a sinking rate of 3.0 to 3.5 seconds per meter, to move through the layers of the water column at a regular speed. It has been designed to reach depths at a regular pace, where squids are actively seeking for prey, without being affected by the currents. This is also its main difference from the Deep Model, which has a sinking speed between 3.0 and 3.5 seconds per meter of depth. The steady, sinking motion produced by the Egimasa will trigger the squids hunting instinct without any effort.

Its design holds no surprises. DUO followed the traditional design patterns by applying basic techniques to achieve the ideal result. The DUO Egimasa Regular is an efficient and easy-to-use squid jig. The front part features a thin profile for the purpose of instantly following the commands given by the rod, due to the little water resistance. The back has been designed in such a way that it balances and holds a posture with the needles upwards, for increased efficiency.

But one point in which it differs from other squid jigs and which you can easily notice, is the placement of the external sinker slightly closer to the lures belly. This design allows the DUO Egimasa to perform sharp jerks, even with the slightest motion of the rod, and at the same time it immediately stops moving during pauses in the retrieve, maintaining its balance.
