The Mirage JT 128S is a lure that combines the advantages of all jointed lures, designed to target fish hiding in structures.

Japanese company Trefle Creation felt that there is a lot of potential in the action of Jointed lures and in order to maximize that potential, they developed a lure that swims in an S-shaped action, equipped with a Pendulum-type joint and a sections controlling system that overcomes the limited casting distance of jointed lures. The Trefle Creation Mirage JT is a Jointed lure, that casts far and produces an S-shaped swimming motion, that attracts Seabass.

The Mirage JT 128S is a lure that combines the advantages of all jointed lures, designed to target fish hiding in structures. When fishing for Seabass, one of the elements that many anglers look for in a lure is casting distance. At the same time, even if the lures action is very good, not being able to reach far, is one of the factors that makes anglers feel very stressed and discourage them from choosing them. Jointed lures can catch fish, but reaching far is one area in which they do not excel. So it is difficult for any angler to consider jointed lures, as a top choice in Seabass fishing.

Company Trefle Creation worked endlessly on this aspect of jointed lures, aiming to make the Mirage a standard lure for Seabass fishing, by creating a new mechanism in the joint, that can help the lure achieve outstanding casting distances. As you can see in the diagram, the two sections of the lure, are jointed by a Pendulum, attached to the front section. In the rear section, there is a hole, in which the Pendulum fits. Trefle Creation developed a mechanism, which does two things:

• During casting, a 6.5mm Tungsten sphere in the rear section, moves to the end of the tail, making it heavier towards the end, stretching and locking the metal fittings and assisting the lure in reaching far. The Tungsten sphere helps the body remain in a straight line during casting and ensures that the Pendulum enters into the hole.
• When the lure finds itself in a horizontal position, the tails sphere moves forward, shifting the center balance to the front, while gravity causes the metal fittings that controlled the movement of the rear body to retract into the front body. This way the lures action is restored.

One last issue that Trefle Creation needed to overcome was the stability of the Mirage JT128 in currents. Many of the lipless lures, that swim in an S-shaped motion, were developed for catching Bass and were suitable for environments that are not easily affected by currents. However, a lure that could continue to swim in a stable manner, even in the presence of currents was essential in Seabass fishing, so Trefle Creation repeatedly adjusted the front eyelet settings, the tail fin design and softness and the internal weight balance settings, until they found a setting that could be used in the complex currents of saltwater fishing.
