Major Craft has developed a jig that can be used in a variety of In-Shore and Off-Shore styles, but most importantly has been based on the concept that Sardines that appear to be weak, or injured attract more predators.
The Major Craft Maki Jig Jet features numerous characteristics, that make it unique as a lure. First of all, the range includes colors that diffuse the reflection of sunlight and appear as scale that has been bitten by predators and peeled off. The outer finish includes holographic colors, that produce flashes and reflect available light.
Just cast and retrieve it. The Major Craft Maki Jet jigs feature a slim body and a rear blade. The super slim body meets less air resistance and achieves an overwhelming casting distance. The Maki Jig Jet is a rear centered lure, which achieves an incredible casting distance and quick fall, so you won’t miss your chance.
This particular jig has it all: a front assist hook with an iridescent tinsel, a rear treble hook and a rotating blade, that flashes and creates an appealing motion, simply by retrieving.
Major Craft calculated every, single detail, so that the balance of the jig would not be affected, despite the addition of the rear blade, which produces a very attractive motion, simply by retrieving it, imitating a fish on the escape. The rear blade rotates, flashes and provokes action. This is not to say that the same, attractive motion is not reproduced, when the Maki Jet jig is falling, as the blade continues to rotate and induces a bite.
The Major Craft Maki Jig has an inviting silhouette, that comprises of a flat side and a round shaped side. The flow of water causes this jig to produce an irregular action, that can be effective even with weary targets. For species that feed on small fish, such as Sardines, it is common to use actions such as jerking and sliding, to bring them in for a bite, but this style might not work at all for species that respond to slow moving targets, such as micro fish. In such cases, the most effective fishing method includes a jig with a blade. Try to contain the movement of the jig, with a simple and steady retrieve, to resemble the natural pattern of a bait fish, and attract predatory fish just by the flashing and slight vibration of the blade.
The blade is also very effective for fish that bite from the rear, such as Mackerel and fish that can be caught with the Tai Rubber fishing style such as Rockfish (Red Snappers, Dentex, etc).
With the Major Craft Maki Jig Jet you can enjoy numerous fishing styles from Shore Jigging, to Light Jigging and Cast Jigging.
