The Tide-Minnow SLD series was developed as a slim-type, long distance model, with castability as the top priority. It is a basic model that can be used in a wide range of locales (surf, estuaries, off the rocks, etc). It features a wobble and roll’ action with a pleasant feel. It is able to catch the small-scale flows in the current, even when retrieved slowly. With its great castability, it is the perfect entry model.

DUO created the sinking model by simply adding a small fixed weight to the belly area of the floating model. This slight weight difference translates into a major change in performance.

Three slightly smaller tungsten balls are used for the moving weight system, allowing for greater range of motion as well as a lower center of gravity.

The 125SLD-S is very productive in surf, especially when targeting flounders. Greater weight allows greater castability, and by simply counting while letting the lure sink, the angler can access productive zones of various species. Additionally, one can expect even more stable action in the rougher conditions of the break-line.

The resin wall of the belly area is made twice as thick as usual, further lowering the lure’s center of gravity and thereby allowing for more stable casting and action.

Compared to the floating model, the action is also toned down due to the increased weight. A heavier body gives this lure more controllability in rough conditions where other lures tend to lose balance.

The sinking model has made it possible to control the lure’s depth by counting time. This allows for a more technical approach when the angler wants to trace a different depth.
