Ryuji did not name this lure Dog Strike accidentally. The Dog Strike has been built to produce a clear Walk the Dog motion on the surface of the water, very easily and without much effort by the angler. The zig-zag movement comes out smoothly and completely naturally from the Ryuji Dog Strike and experience is not a factor here. Thanks to its characteristics and its compact body, it is an ideal lure to make really long casts.

The conditions in which the Dog Strike can be used are mainly during the summer months, when the presence of Saddled Seabreams in the Mediterranean coastlines is more than evident. It is well known amongst Rock Fishing Anglers that Saddled Seabreams are particularly attracted by lures that produce vibrations and splashes on the seawater surface. The action of Walk the Dog lures simulates frightened, or injured baitfish looking for safe shelter in shallow water.
