The latest Opinel evolution takes the traditional design and spin it in to a DIY knife (Do It Yourself / Couteau de Bricolage).

This knife features a thick, robust 2.2 mm blade in modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel. The 2 notches on the blade serve as a cable stripper ( max 8 mm) and cable cutter ( max 5 mm).

Very strong fibreglass-reinforced polyamide handle, with two built-in bits: flat screwdriver for 4 mm screws, crossed screwdriver for 3,5 to 5 mm screws and magnetised bit holder.

Cleaning

With your Opinel open, run warm water on the blade and wipe with a sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse the blade with warm water while taking care not to soak the wooden handle. Leave the blade to dry before closing (this is not necessary for plastic handles).

Important: Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle.
